South African company AVS introduces its range of Milcat light armoured vehicles, that is unique in its category.
The Milcat offers supreme reliability, protection and mobility. AVS has two models:
Each with its own unique variants. These variants include drone command units for both models.
The Milcat is based on a light truck, ensuring that all the components of the drivetrain are designed to handle the constant weight of the armoured body under all circumstances. This makes the Milcat quite unique when compared to most uparmoured commercial vehicles, many of which can exceed their GVM when fully loaded. With a GVM of 7 700kg, the Milcat has a loading capacity of between 2 400kg and 1 400kg depending on the model and variant.
The Milcat features level B6 ballistic protection, which protects up to and including standard assault rifles. The body offers 360° of protection to the occupants.
The Milcat is a permanent AWD vehicle and comes standard with 3 diff-locks (Front, Middle and Rear). The vehicle also boasts portal axles, which allows for increased ground-clearance. All these features make the Milcat an extremely capable off-road vehicle. This comes in handy in many situations but especially on mines when rain can cause gravel roads, specifically the perimeter roads, to become a problem. Even though it is an extremely capable off-road vehicle it is also at home on any tar road or in any urban setting.
The Milcat has a proven track record of reliability and practicality and has been successfully deployed across South Africa. It is a proudly South African vehicle, manufactured in-house at AVS’s manufacturing facility east of Pretoria.
